“Max Brod”

Kafka

“Dearest Max,

my last prayer:

everything that is in my legacy (therefore in bookcases, in the linen closet, in the desk at home and in the office, or wherever something may have been taken away and comes within reach), diaries, manuscripts, letters, from others and mine, drawings etc…burn it entirely and without reading it, as well as all the writings and drawings that you, or others from whom you should ask on my behalf, possess.
Whoever doesn’t want to deliver letters to you,
he should at least commit to burning them himself.

Letter to Max Brod 1919-1921
